The Narsunda River is connected to the Brahmaputra near the Hossainpur-Pakundia border. Kishoreganj is a district town connected to the Dhaleshwari river in Maijkhapan union. Locally this junction is known as "Chouganga". Narsunda is widely regarded as a tributary of the Brahmaputra. The length of the main Narsunda river in Kishoreganj is about 30 miles (about 56 km). At one time the main attraction of Kishoreganj city was this Narsunda and to this day it has divided Kishoreganj city into two parts.
Many stories, tales, legends and romanticism are still ingrained in the minds of the people of Kishoreganj. At present, the people of Kishoreganj are dreaming anew around the dead Narsunda. The present government is planning to excavate Narsunda and make it a beautiful lake. If implemented, Kishoreganj will attract tourists as a beautiful city.
